Josh Evans Soccer School Holiday Classes are run every holiday and half term period and are held in the grounds of Downsend School. These are great courses if your child is looking to get into football and learn and develop new skills.

The courses are always four days’ long with enrolment starting at 9.30am. Younger children (up to age 7) attend mornings only and finish at 12pm. The older children (up to age 12) continue into the afternoon, finishing at 3pm. We also offer early drop off from 8.30am and an extended day until 4pm.

Morning Class

Younger children (up to age 7) attend the mornings only and finish at 12pm. In the morning players work on the technical side of football (yes these courses are fun and action packed but players will learn and develop new and different skills all the time!) including: close control, skills and feints, attacking and defending principles, passing and shooting.

Afternoon Class

In the afternoon is the chance for the older players (up to age 12) to show what they’ve learnt in the morning in team games, including; over and under load attacking games, matches, tournaments, competitions and skills games!

Please book early

All courses are booked by emailing to our mailing list in advance of the course.

These course are popular and always sell out despite us increasing the capacity of the Class to 80 per day by moving the courses to Downsend School and adding additional trusted and properly trained coaches. We are training more coaches.

In the past we have tried to be flexible and accommodate last minute requests for attendance, even when made in person on the morning of the course. Unfortunately, to comply with the terms of our Public Liability insurance we now have to maintain specified staff/pupil ratios and so can now no longer accept any children once the course is full.

To keep things as fair as possible we will maintain a waiting list and advise parents on it if a space becomes available, starting with the first on the list. Please note that means we cannot accept a request on the day of the course.

Just wanted to write a line to thank you for a fantastic week of football. Freddie had an absolutely amazing week and loved the four days of football. You bring out the best in him…..the Coaches are always enthusiastic, friendly and encouraging. You seem to know every boy by name and with their daily high fives, each coach is a real credit to your hardworking team. To see Freddie so engaged and happy playing football every day has been very much appreciated by me.

Just wanted to thank you for providing such an excellent time for Peter and Adam.  They came out each day on a high, so full of their achievements and so happy.  The icing on the cake for Peter was staying for the afternoon on the last day.  He particularly mentioned playing with the others at “free time”.  Adam was particularly pleased and has mentioned several times that he scored a penalty.

Thank you so much to the whole team! Sam thoroughly enjoyed his first JE holiday camp. On day 1 he told me his day had been “amazing” when I collected him. He learnt lots of new skills, particularly as this was the first time has had goalkeeper-specific teaching… huge thanks to Ian for encouraging Sam with this. The “player of the week” award he received was the icing on the cake and he is incredibly proud to have received it.
